What kind of quad is it?
Four broad types. We buy all of them, in any condition.

How we price a quad
Hours or miles
Hours, on a farm quad. Road-registered ones often go on miles instead. Turn the key and photograph the display.
2WD or 4WD, and whether it all works
4WD and a diff lock that engage cleanly are worth money. Playing up? Say so in the form. We'll price it in.
The winch and other extras
A working winch counts. So do straight racks and decent tyres. Leave it all fitted and list it in the form.
Paperwork you can find
If it's registered, that's the V5C. If it isn't, the original invoice. Still on finance? Then a settlement letter from the lender. Each one sits alongside your ID and our check of the frame number.
Condition and service history
Dealer stamps help. So does a drawer of your own receipts for oil and filters. Photograph the cracked plastics and the torn seat as well as the good side.

Farm and utility quads
These are the ones with racks at both ends and a tow hitch at the back. Plenty have a winch. Most were never registered, and most have done a lot of hours. That doesn't put us off. If a farm sale has three or four of them, we'll collect the lot in one trip where we can.
Sports quads: Raptors and YFZs
Think Raptor 700 or YFZ450R. Plenty have been modified and some have been raced. We price the mods properly, and if the standard exhaust is still in the shed, leave it out for us.
Youth quads, 50cc to 110cc
Most are sold because the child has outgrown them. Keep the speed limiter fitted. Find the receipt.
Road-registered quads
Most quads can't go on the road at all. The few that can are registered with the DVLA and wear number plates, and they need tax too, plus an MOT once they're over 3 years old. A quad used only for farming can instead go on the DVLA's records as a light agricultural vehicle. Horticulture and forestry count as farming for this. Newer farm quads approved as T3 tractors get called T-plated. GOV.UK's quad bike rules set out the detail, and our guide to whether quad bikes are road legal puts it in plain English. The Japanese four
Honda is the make you'll see most on UK farms. The TRX 420 FourTrax has its own page, and so does the TRX 500 Foreman and Rubicon. Yamaha splits into Grizzly and Kodiak work quads and Raptor and YFZ450R sports quads. Suzuki means the KingQuad, and that includes the manual 400FSi. With Kawasaki it's usually a V-twin Brute Force, though old KLF Bayous still turn up.
Polaris and Can-Am
Polaris sold the Sportsman in every size from 450 up to the XP 1000. There's a 6x6 as well. Can-Am means the Outlander. The two-up version is the MAX, and the Renegade is the sporty one.
CFMOTO and the rest
CFMOTO's CFORCE range runs from a 110 for children to the 1000 V-twin. Arctic Cat and TGB are in our offer form. So are Linhai and Quadzilla. Something older or rarer? Pick "Other" and tell us what it is.
Selling a quad that doesn't run
Seized engine? Rolled it down a bank? It still has a value, because people who rebuild quads need diffs and frames. We winch it onto the trailer and collection stays free. Registered or not, we check it's yours
Nothing is paid until we've seen your ID and the V5C or purchase invoice, found the frame number on the chassis, and made sure it agrees with the paperwork. That protects you too: nobody can come back later and say the quad wasn't yours to sell.
Quads get stolen a lot. That's why the frame number matters. Some also carry CESAR markings, from a scheme Datatag runs. It uses tamper-evident labels and hidden transponders. If yours is marked, tell us. We also look for any sign the frame number has been altered.
No V5C? Most farm quads never had one. The original dealer invoice usually does the job, and a finance settlement letter works too. Our guide to proving ownership when there's no V5C goes through what counts.

We're based in Kent. You pay nothing for collection anywhere in the county or on into London and the rest of the South East, and if you're further afield we can usually arrange something. Selling a quad bike: common questions
Can I sell a quad that has never had a V5C?
Yes, if you can prove it's yours. Most farm quads were never registered, so the original invoice is what we'll ask for. We check the frame number too.
Do you buy 2WD quads?
We do. Manual or auto makes no difference to whether we buy it. A working 4WD system adds value, so mention it if yours has one.
Will you buy a quad with a winch and racks fitted?
Leave them fitted. List the winch and racks in the form and they go into the price.
Do you buy Chinese quads?
Tell us the make and model and we'll be straight with you. CFMOTO has its own page. Linhai and TGB are in our offer form. Unbranded ones are harder to price.
How much is my quad worth?
Make and model set the ballpark. Hours and condition move it from there, and so does the paperwork. The value guide linked above goes through the rest, or send us the details for a real figure.
Do you buy quads with finance still owing?
Yes. We settle what's owed with the lender direct, then transfer the rest to you before loading.
