What decides a buggy's price
Turbo badge and seat count
Turbo models such as the RZR XP Turbo and Maverick X3 sit above non-turbo machines, and four seats usually add to the figure.
Roll-over and crash damage
A rolled buggy still has a price. The cage and chassis set it. Straight is good. If anything's bent or been welded, we need photos.
Hours and miles on a sport machine
Most buggies log hours and miles. Tell us both. Sport hours are harder hours than a farm UTV's.
Receipts for belts and clutch work
Keep every receipt for belts and oil changes. Tell us too if it's been raced or run at pay-and-ride sites.
Aftermarket parts and the stock ones
Good mods can add value. Keeping the factory parts adds more, because more people can buy it next.
V5C and road kit
A buggy with a V5C and working lights and indicators has a wider market than an off-road-only one.
Who sells us a buggy
Buggies are bought for fun. People sell them for different reasons than a farm UTV. Kids outgrow weekends at the track. Trail-day groups drift apart. Then there's the newer model on order, or a garage that's needed back. Sometimes a buggy has gone over and the owner no longer fancies fixing it.
Greenlaning needs a road-registered vehicle with tax and insurance, and only lanes where motor vehicles have a right of way are open to it. Plenty of owners never bother with any of that and keep to private land and pay-and-ride sites, and we buy from both. If you want to sell your buggy without a string of time-wasters, send it through.
Built buggies: tell us what's been done
Most buggies we see have been modified, which is fine, so list what's on it and whether you kept the parts that came off.
Cages and light bars
Properly fitted kit from a known brand usually adds value. Roofs and winches count. Name the brands if you can.
Tunes and clutch kits
They make a buggy quicker and can make it harder to sell, as some buyers want it factory standard. Tell us what was done and who did it.
Keeping the factory parts
Still got the stock exhaust in the shed? The original clutch springs? They go into the price. A buggy you can put back to standard sells to a wider crowd.
Plated buggies and off-road-only buggies
Most UK buggies are off-road machines with no registration, used on private land with the landowner's permission. That's fine by us: the purchase invoice, or other evidence it's yours, is enough.
Tractor homologation allows DVLA registration, and a few buggies were sold new with it. In April 2026 Polaris announced a UK T1b version of the RZR Pro XP Ultimate. Others were converted and registered later. Our guide to how UK road registration works for off-road machines explains the background. Got a V5C? It needs to be in your name.
Either way, we look at photo ID and your documents, and the chassis VIN has to match them before any money is sent.
Rolled buggies and snapped belts
We'll buy a buggy that's been rolled, or one that's half stripped for parts. Send photos of the cage and chassis, and be straight about what happened. The offer reflects it. We bring a winch on the trailer, so a dead buggy can come straight out of the garage or lock-up without anyone having to push it. More on how we buy machines that don't run.
Not sure it's a buggy?
One offer form covers everything we buy. For model detail, see the Polaris RZR 570 to Pro R page or the Can-Am Maverick page, from Trail to X3. A tipping bed and bench seat make it a work machine, so try selling a farm UTV. Selling a sport quad too? See sports quads we buy, and CFMOTO owners can check CFMOTO quads we buy. When you're ready, start your buggy offer.

Selling an off-road buggy: your questions
Will you buy a road-registered buggy?
Yes, and a plate in your name usually helps the price.
My buggy has been on its roof. Is it still worth something to you?
Yes. Photos of the cage and chassis are what we price it from.
Do you buy Chinese buggies?
Yes for CFMOTO. For other makes, send photos with the make and model and we'll tell you if we can make an offer.
Will a modified buggy put you off?
No. Built buggies are most of what we see, so just list the mods.
There's finance outstanding on my buggy. Can I still sell?
Yes. We pay off the lender directly and send the balance to you.
